Jacobsen’s Matt Rich Wins Marketer of the Year Award

SALT LAKE CITY—Vice President Matt Rich, Jacobsen’s director of business development and marketing, was recently honored as the 2016 Marketer of the Year at SMPS (Society for Marketing Professional Services) Utah’s annual Marketing Awards Gala. Top business and industry leaders selected Matt because of his extraordinary marketing achievements in the architecture, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry.

“It’s thrilling to be recognized with this prestigious award from SMPS Utah,” said Matt. “The SMPS Utah Chapter is an outstanding organization of exemplary industry professionals, and it’s a great honor for me to be celebrated by them.”

SMPS gives the award to the person who most exemplifies the skills, creativity, integrity and savvy of a successful A/E/C professional marketer. Under Matt’s leadership, Jacobsen’s revenues have increased every year for the past five years, with record revenues projected in 2016. He’s also led Jacobsen to three consecutive Best of State awards, as well as ENR (Engineering News-Record) Mountain States 2014 Contractor of the Year and AGC (Associated General Contractors) of Utah’s 2016 Contractor of the Year. Additionally, Matt has provided valuable insights as a speaker at local and regional SMPS events, and currently serves as president of the Utah Alliance for Economic Development.

“Matt Rich is a friend and a gentleman with a natural ability to engage people. His warm smile, kind words and genuine handshake stir the passion of those he encounters,” explains Jacobsen CEO Doug Welling. “These attributes are welcomed at Jacobsen as Matt preserves and extends our 94-year reputation of making lives better for our clients and our communities. Jacobsen’s continued success is a testament to his talent.”
