Utah Governor Visits JCC Project at Dixie State College
Press Release | October 20, 2011
Governor Gary Herbert (fourth from the left) visited the Dixie State College campus Oct.18, and one of his stops was the Holland Centennial Commons building -- which is coming along quickly and impressively, thanks to Jacobsen Construction.
Accompanied by DSC President Stephen Nadauld and VP Stan Plewe, Governor Herbert was given a guided tour (complete with a personalized hard hat!) of the project by JCC Project Manager Dirk Zenger and Project Engineer Aaron Atkinson.
"It’s not every day that the Governor shows up at your jobsite, so it was a pretty exciting event," Atkinson said.
"[Governor Herbert] was very impressed with our work, and complimented our team," added Zenger. "We've had such tremendous support from Stan Plewe and others from DSC throughout the project... to be praised by the governor is just icing on the cake for us!" Holland Centennial Commons will be completed next spring.
