PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Department of Homeland Security in Salt Lake City will house four separate government agencies that each require their own level of security specific to their role. The facility includes three court rooms, five holding cells, weapons room, ammunition room, sally port and other unique spaces. Because this building will hold a variety of users, security and access to spaces will be key to keeping order and safety. The project’s security features begin with guard booths and a K-12 fence with net grab system for perimeter protection. The building has incorporated blast-grade glazing and meets minimum property line setbacks. The security system also includes access control, motion sensors and visual surveillance.
