PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Utah House and Senate Buildings were the first phase of a comprehensive Capitol campus restoration and construction project. They housed Capitol employees — including the Governor, the Attorney General and the Utah state legislators — while the restoration and seismic retrofitting of the Utah State Capitol was being completed by Jacobsen.
The project featured two identical 92,500 sf office buildings, a parking structure with 316 stalls and a plaza laid over an existing parking garage. The exteriors of the buildings are solid granite and cubic stone, replicating the classical architecture of the Utah State Capitol Building.
