PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Along with its joint venture partner, Hunt Construction, Jacobsen was selected to complete the $185 million Utah State Capitol Restoration. The project included seismic base isolation, preservation and restoration of the State’s landmark granite structure.
In addition to resolving structural problems, the basic systems of the building including electrical, air conditioning, heating and lighting were brought up to current standards. Original artifacts in the building, including the marble staircase, paintings, murals and statues, were repaired and restored as well.
