PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The China Bridge Parking Structure is a five-level concrete structure with suspended post tension concrete decks. The 300-stall structure incorporated the use of corrosion inhibitor additives to control rusting of the rebar due to the high amount of salt used in the area for snow melt.
Construction required mass excavation and installation of a 45-foot soldier pile wall to retain the existing hillside. Jacobsen worked on an extremely tight site which required relocating the overhead utility lines. The project team also had to overcome an aggressive schedule and mountain snow storms.
