University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Hawaiian Language

The two-story College of Hawaiian Language features a sloping metal roof, which was designed to resemble flowing lava. Portions of the roof are also lined with photovoltaic (PV) panels that supplement the building’s power supply. The facility includes a library, classrooms, faculty offices and a performance hall. An outdoor ceremonial plaza serves as the venue for many ceremonies and informal gatherings.
