SALT LAKE CITY — Jacobsen Construction is a Top 100 Green Contractor in the United States for the 17th year in a row, according to new rankings released by Engineering News-Record (ENR).

ENR’s 2025 ranking puts Jacobsen at 48th, a nine-spot jump from the year prior and the company’s highest place on the prestigious list since 2019.

ENR’s Top 100 Green Contractors ranking is based on construction firms’ revenue from projects that are “certified by a third-party organization that sets standards for measuring a building’s or facility’s environmental impact, energy efficiency or carbon footprint,” the magazine said in its announcement of the list. Jacobsen generated $372 million in revenue from such projects in the most recent year.

Jacobsen currently employs 16 LEED Accredited Professionals — project leaders who are specially trained to build according to stringent environmental standards that account for energy efficiency, water efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions, sustainable landscaping, carbon footprint and more. Two of the company’s projects were also announced this year as winners of Excellence in Sustainability awards from ENR:

  • Completely powered by photovoltaic rooftop solar panels.
  • Net-positive energy building, thanks to onsite solar energy batteries.
