SALT LAKE CITY — About 800 construction team members and special guests cheered as the final steel spire support was hoisted into place atop the Salt Lake Temple on Tuesday, Feb. 13, marking a major project milestone.

Reinforcement of the temple’s iconic spires has been a major part of the seismic work protecting this special place of worship. Members of the construction team celebrated the special occasion by signing their names to the support steel and receiving t-shirts and helmet stickers specially designed for the occasion.

“We’re blessed to build in a space that means so much to so many people,” said Jacobsen Construction Vice President, Project Executive Josh Fenn, who oversees all work on the project.
