Continued growth in key market sectors has enabled Jacobsen to move up significantly on a widely-watched industry ranking. In the recently released Engineering News-Record (ENR) annual ranking of Top 400 Contractors, Jacobsen moved up from No. 176 to No. 137 among national contracting firms.

Jacobsen reported a total revenue of $461 million for 2014, compared with $363 million in the prior year—an increase of nearly $100 million. “Our long-term strategy is to maintain a controlled and consistent growth rate—which we strive to achieve by taking excellent care of our clients and, in turn, securing future partnerships with them,” explains JCC CEO Doug Welling. “This strategy has paid off significantly over the past year, which is both exciting and gratifying.”

Jacobsen also reported $580 million in new contracts for 2014—the most work awarded in a single year in its 93-year history. “We’re looking toward a bright future with our clients, and we’re honored that they’ve entrusted us with so many important projects,” Welling adds. “But for us, this represents an excellent beginning! We have plenty of capacity for upcoming work, and look forward to joining forces on many more endeavors.”
